Man of La Mancha opens!

Our production of Man of La Mancha opened last night at NVOT. The performance was — as we’d hoped — full of dramatic impact.
I’m so very proud of the orchestra this year. The professionals are just the best, and the seven students who are playing in the orchestra sound and act like professionals.
Tim’s hair and makeup design really brings the characters alive. His work truly makes a great production even better.
John Housley, however, is the key to the entire success of our show. His production design, direction, and choreography allows this complex stage production — a story within a story — to become reality for all who witness it.
Jack Phinney, as Don Quixote, stopped the show again on Friday night with his rendition of The Impossible Dream. He is a convincing and dynamic Quixote. Kayley Collins approaches the complex character of Aldonza with sincerity and poignancy. Together they tell a love story with no parallel — no “I love you,” no tender kiss of love — just transformation. And Dan Spaventa creates a Sancho Panza who is lovable and believable.
We’re very proud of this production. Tickets are still available for tonight (Satuarday, February 28) at 7:30 pm and tomorrow (Sunday, March 1) at 2:00 pm. If you live in the area, please consider adding this to your weekend plans.
