I want to say a special thank you to everyone who helped to make the surprise 30th anniversary reception at NVOT on October 27 such a wonderful surprise, and wonderful memory.
Chona Freedman masterfully organized the invitations and emails to coordinate the parents and students. Stratos Mandalakis was also instrumental in putting the evening together. Tim drove all the way to Lititz and back that day, just to bring my mom, Helen, to attend the concert and surprise me at the reception. More parents helped with food donations and the coordination of the reception itself. I was completely shocked and surprised!
The parents presented me with a very special gift: a gift certificate to The Campus Quilt Company, which makes quilts out of t-shirts. Over the years, I’ve collected so many Marching Band and All-School Musical t-shirts, and most are just sitting in storage. This gift will enable me to have a quilt made of all these shirts, and proudly display them. I will probably have enough to make two separate quilts until I go through them all.
