Hi Curt,
I met you a few Summers ago at Tempke University during a conducting workshop. My son, Nolan Wenik, was playing bassoon in the chamber for the workshop conductors. Long story short… he is now at Northwestern. Thought you may find it interesting, or maybe not. I think it is comical that he ended up there since every time I mentioned NU he said no. You even recommended the school to him since you are an alum. He is having a great time studying with David McGill. Hope you are well, staying warm and having a great winter. Moureen

Hello Sir!
Otis Kitchen tells me that you and I played in the Lancaster Youth Symphony (&Wind Ensemble I assume) back when we were in high school. He also told me that you were in the audience for the Wind Symphony of Clovis at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago a few weeks ago. He ALSO told me that you said hello after the performance and I guess I am just a dingbat that I can’t remember all of that. I was rather high on something after that concert. It was one of the coolest experiences of my life. Anyway, I am REALLY disappointed to think that this might be true. Having the chance to visit with someone who went to Millersville State on Sunday afternoons to play in Dr. Kitchen’s band with me (and attend symphony camp at E-town) would have been AWESOME! I miss Lancaster and all the people and all the terrific food SO much.
Anyway, I wanted to look you up and send a quick email. My email is garygi@csufresno.edu or gary@gpgmusic.com and I’d love to be in touch with you. I told Dr. Kitchen I would send you a few COMP concert band tunes if you would be interested. Maybe you can let me know if that would interest you and let me know what grade level is best for your band. It looks like they are a pro-level group. That must be fun. I am certainly having fun with MY new group (WSC).
Anyway, so sorry I did not realize who you were if indeed you came up to say hello after our concert in Chicago. Take care!

Marilyn,
I’m very sorry that I’m only seeing this comment on my site today. I am sure that you are aware at this point that I worked with Sue Pastore to help craft the job description. I hope the search was fruitful.
Best of luck to you and the ensemble. If there’s anything further I can do to assist you and NWSO, please contact me again.
Curt
