One anniversary and two concerts this weekend

Five year anniversary

Tim and I are celebrating our five year anniversary tomorrow! Thanks for all the kind messages that have been sent. We appreciate your love and warm greetings. We’re heading out to X20 in Yonkers — one of our favorite gourmet restaurants — to celebrate tonight, because the rest of the weekend is pretty busy.

WSW on Saturday

My final Westchester Symphonic Winds concert of the 2011-2012 season is tomorrow, Saturday, May 19 at 8:00 pm, at Tarrytown Music Hall. The concert, sub-titled, “Choreography,” is filled with music that moves you, in all kinds of ways. We have American dances/marches, Tex-Mex dances, gypsy dances, middle eastern dances, solitary dances — lots of dances!

I feel very fortunate to have been honored with the John P. Paynter Memorial Conductor’s Chair, endowed at our February concert. I am indebted to Ed & Michelle Herko for their kind donation, which made this possible

Joey (euphonium soloist), Curt, & Brian (guest conductor)

Our guest conductor is Brian Worsdale, a wonderful friend and dynamic conductor. Brian is the Artistic Director at French Woods Music Camp, and the Conductor of the Inter-School Orchestra Symphonic Band in New York City. And our guest soloist is TSgt Joseph Bello, euphonium, from the US Air Force Band. Joey is an amazing soloist — you won’t believe what you hear! Their performances are full of dynamic energy, and are not to be missed!

If you live in the area, I hope you’ll join us! Tickets are available at the box office, $20/general admission, and $15/students and seniors.
