WSW Concert Web Streaming on Sunday!

I’m thrilled to be leading the Westchester Symphonic Winds in our first concert since February 2020 this weekend on Sunday, November 14 at 3:00 pm. We have been rehearsing in half-ensemble sectionals since September and are very excited to be reuniting for this performance.

A Tribute to Percy Grainger

We are performing an all-Grainger concert, in honor of the 100th anniversary of Percy Grainger arriving in White Plains, NY (his home for the next 40 years), and the 60th anniversary of his death. The Grainger House Museum in White Plains is collaborating with us in this endeavor. In addition, we will be presenting our second Life Achievement Award to Joe Greco, retired band director from Ardsley High School, for his amazing contributions to music education in Westchester County.

If you live in the Westchester area, I hope you might consider joining us at Tarrytown Music Hall, but keep in mind that all audience members must show proof of vaccination and wear masks during the performance.

Live Concert Webcast

If you live out of the area, or are simply not comfortable attending an indoor concert at this point, please consider watching the live webcast. You can find it easily right on our organization’s website www.westchestersymphonicwinds.org. This is our maiden voyage into the world of web streaming, but we are eager to give it a try, and make these performances available to a wider audience.

So one way or another, I hope you’ll consider joining me and this wonderful ensemble on Sunday at 3:00 pm EST.
