WSW returns Saturday at 8:00 pm!

My wonderful community wind ensemble, the Westchester Symphonic Winds, is performing again this Saturday evening at 8:00 pm at Tarrytown Music Hall. This wonderful program, “Polkas and Other Stories,” is filled with exciting and joyous music, and includes three works for solo accordion and band (yes, you read that right – solo accordion!). It’s going to be a festive & jubilant evening, and I hope you can attend one of two ways:

  • If you are local and can attend in person (vaccinations and masks are required for everyone’s safety): Please contact me for half-price tickets at $10.00 each. I can hold them for you at Will Call, COD. Please contact me by noon on Saturday if you’d like me to reserve tickets for you.
  • Virtually via live webcast at www.westchestersymphonicwinds.org. No tickets required! And the concert will be archived on our YouTube channel. (Feel free to subscribe to our channel!)

Our amazing guest artists include accordion soloist Matt Podd, and guest conductor Dr. Joseph Bello. This program includes:

GALANTE – Sword of the Titans
TICHELI – Rest
COLLINS – The Paper Man
PIAZZOLLA, arr. GREEN – Oblivion
DE ABRÉU, arr. GREEN – Tico Tico
STANDRIDGE – The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
IDIO – The Cruise Line Dream
WEINBERGER – Polka and Fugue, from the opera Schwanda, the Bagpiper
NAMYSLOWSKI, arr. GREEN – Clarinet Polka

This is our first full-length program at the historic Tarrytown Music Hall since February 2020 and we are truly excited by this opportunity to present this music — live! I hope you can consider joining us, either in person or virtually!
